FALL INTO MOVEMENT - A Celebration of the Intersections of Dance and Music

Saturday, January 18th

Fall Into Movement is a celebration of the intersections of dance, music, and the visual arts, aiming to connect active Chicago artists and encourage multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Dance performances will be given by the Chicago Contemporary Dance Company, with music provided by local electronic musicians
Edwin Days and Zachary Mastoon. The Chicago Contemporary Dance Company is a local collective directed by Erin Whitney Brown, that strives to combine self-expression, discipline, and passion within an active community.

Coinciding with the contrasting sounds of Days' pop infused dance beats with amorphous poetry, and Mastoon's genre-blending of jazz improvisation and experimental electronica is a unique installation of video and visual art by three locally profound artists. Alex Lewis, a Miami raised video artist, will be showcasing her new music video, "Make Me Lovely," along with other
works. Margaret Bobo-Dancy will be displaying her visually aesthetic video pieces, which utilize technology to make statements blurring the lines between reality and abstraction, as well as bridging the gap between contemporary and classical art. Keith Whittaker, an abstract watercolor painter whose work is under consideration for public display at the new Stanley Tigerman high-rise, will be curating the visual exhibition.

The multi-disciplinary art performance and exhibit will hold an opening
event at the Fulton Street Collective on Saturday, January 18th. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
