Introducing Primary Chorus

Partners in life and film, our first shared musical moment crystallized on Boy King Islands’ 2012 album, Sun Worship, when Alex dreamed the hook to “I Am You”:

You are me and I am you
So we made us up in our heads

While Alex sang on “We Can’t Tell From Where We Are” & my cover of New Order’s “The Him” (originally released on Dreams Never End in 2015), our duo of Primary Chorus was borne from improvisations years later after buying our first home in the Catskills.

“Luckily Lost” - written when I lost my father - became even more potent as a collaboration when Alex lost hers. Ultimately about death, the song is moreso about the newfound freedom and potential reaped from intense change.

Holding gratitude for “anchorlessness” - a profound illusion -
we are all Luckily Lost.
